Thanks to the generosity of the fine people at WOLF I am reviewing one of their high-quality luxury watch winders, the WOLF Viceroy Single Watch Winder. WOLF, a family owned company with a long lasting tradition of making exceptional horology related products was kind enough to provide me with this sample WOLF winder for review.

Ive got my first special watch, an Omaha Seamaster Planet Ocean 600, absolutely love it.
I got this winder for free with my purchase. It's a great tool to have first off. Working 12 hour night shifts all week in a chemical plant, Im certainly not wearing my watch all week. So I needed a winder, but wanted one of these due to reviews and ease of use.
Many suggest allowing the watch to wind fully down. I ask why.
It's going to cost the price of service etc if it's kept fully wound or if it's allowed to wind down.
The Calibre 8900 movement on my watch suggests 720 Turns Per Day bi directional. So Ive set it to bi-directional and 350 Turns Per Day. Is this correct as I've been advised bi directional is double. Thank you.

Great, and interesting review.. good job man.  Wolf is good stuff 🙂  Back around 3 or so years ago when I was in the underground illicit world and had watches/winders I went with a Rapport of London Captain's Duo winder..nowdays, it's Seiko's or Steinhart's for me. https://www.rapportlondon.com/usa/captain-s-duo-watch-winder.html

I really like that these operate (very nicely) with just a D cell battery. Lasts a long time too and no cords, wall warts, etc to deal with.

SSVS04 says:

Never wanted a watch winder, it just seems like a device to add extra wear and tear on your watches.

Kevork Nourian says:

Thank you for the information

Dave _ says:

I can see the usefulness for a watch that is NOT worn each day, AND does not have hand-winding, AND has a day+date complication. Otherwise, it takes what, 30 seconds to wind and set? I'd rather my automatic mechanicals wind all the way down and "rest" and periodically reset them, than I would to put them on a winder, but that's just me.

Guy I was given a Wolf M2-1 Heritage 270302 from Amazon last Christmas, it works great however it has always has a mildew like smell
about it. I’ve tried everything to dissipate this odor. I didn’t have the original packing and receipt so I’m kind of stuck with a devise that I seldom
Use. 😢

The Watch Lounge says:

I have the wolf they are great and run really quite
