The Vietnam War (US version) Last Episode: The Weight of Memory | PBS America

The final instalment of this epic documentary from filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick tracks the end of the war and its impact on American- Vietnamese relations over the next 40 years.
While the Watergate scandal rivets Americans’ attention during the early 1970s and forces President Nixon to resign, the Vietnamese continue to fight one another in a brutal civil war. When hundreds of thousands of North Vietnamese troops pour into the South, Saigon collapses into chaos.
But the conflict is far from over – for the next 40 years, Americans and Vietnamese from both sides continue to search for healing and reconciliation in the aftermath of this brutal period in history.
